COURSES OFFERED
Art
Advanced Art Studio (twice a week for one full year)
Students will explore new two dimensional and three dimensional art techniques. Students will
also be given opportunities to engage in choice based collaboration projects, incorporating
science, math, literature, and career based art professions. This is an advanced art course for
students interested in furthering their artistic knowledge

BCS: 7th and 8th grade
Adventures in Art (semester)
This course will expose students to a variety of two and three dimensional art work. Experiences
in this class include: painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, graphic design, as well
as many other forms of art. Students will increase their creative thinking skills, gain confidence
and proficiency in working with a variety of mediums.

Berkshire: 7th and 8th grade
Derby: 7th and 8th grade
Art (10 weeks)
The sixth grade art program is a ten week class designed as an exploration of art technologies,
skills, artists, and careers. Two and three-dimensional art will be studied throughout this rotation.
Art projects could include: zentangle portfolios, bleach painting, a study of art history, rubber
carving and water based printmaking, and sculpture. The highlight of this class will be a metals
project.
