Choir
6th Grade Choir
6th Grade Choir is a fun, engaging class where students build foundational music performance
skills. The curriculum covers a wide variety of repertoire, including classical, musical theater, and
popular music. Students will develop basic vocal techniques, musicianship, piano notation,
ensemble skills, and music reading through daily warm-ups and exercises. Participation includes
two mandatory evening concerts per year, with regular field trips, social outings, and teambuilding activities. All students, regardless of experience, are welcome to join!
Schools offered:
Berkshire: 6th grade (every other day)
Derby: 6th grade (every other day)
7th Grade Choir
7th Grade Choir builds on foundational music skills to create an outstanding performing group.
Students explore classical, musical theater, and popular repertoire while advancing their
musicianship, vocal technique, piano notation, and music reading. Opportunities include two
mandatory evening concerts, chamber music performances, and MSVMA Honors Choir. Field
trips, social outings, and team-building activities enhance the experience. All students,
regardless of experience, are welcome to join!

8th Grade Choir
8th Grade Choir focuses on advanced musicianship and vocal technique through diverse
repertoire, including classical, musical theater, and popular music. Students will refine their skills
with daily warm-ups, piano notation, ensemble work, and music reading. Participation includes
multiple mandatory evening concerts, chamber music, MSVMA Festival performances, and
social/team-building activities. All students, regardless of experience, are welcome to join!
