Skills for Success (semester)
This semester course is designed to give students practical experiences in food preparation and
management as well as other 21st-century life skills. There is an emphasis on kitchen safety,
utilizing different types of equipment, and kitchen math and measurement. Lab experiences
build upon this knowledge throughout the semester as students explore a wide variety of
recipes and cooking techniques. Nutrition, financial literacy, and career exploration are infused
throughout the semester using a variety of digital programs. Communication, decision-making,
problem-solving, and positive social skills are the building blocks to success in this course.
