68112 Today’s Health
Today’s Health is designed to provide students with the practical life skills necessary to maintain total health and wellness
today and in the future. This course provides opportunities for students to engage in group discussions as well as
participate in activities that apply their knowledge to real-life topics. Major course emphasis is placed on the dimensions of
wellness, understanding oneself and others, substance use and abuse, and human sexuality. Abstinence from high-risk
behaviors is the primary focus of this course. Students will learn and practice self-advocacy skills necessary to help them
avoid harmful behaviors.
*Fulfills the MMC graduation requirement for Health Education.

Human Sexuality is a senior-level elective course that takes a deeper dive into health-related topics. This course is
designed to provide students with a comprehensive study of human sexuality. Topics of study will include self-concept,
exploring individual values, sexual development, reproductive health, healthy and unhealthy relationships, decisionmaking and communication skills, consent, and the law.
